A glittering jewel amongst green tea, Mao Feng is grown in the Anhui Province near Huangshan, the Yellow Mountain. This tea is typically harvested in early spring, before the Qingming Festival, and only the new tea buds and the first leaf adjacent to the bud is picked, giving the tea an exceptionally beautiful quality.

Its full name, Huangshan Mao Feng, roughly translates as ‘Yellow Mountain Fur Peak’. This is supposedly due to the white hairs that cover the leaves, as well as the shape of the processed tea which is said to resemble the peak of a mountain.

Upon opening the tea you are greeted with the deliciously aromatic tea scent that drifts from the beautiful leaves. The clean, needle-like Camellia sinensis leaves can be gently infused to produce a pale jade cup, the taste is oft described as crisp and fresh, with floral overtones.
